Actually, that part of the hood on Imprezas (At least the 02-07 models) is out of the air current, so the stock scoop is almost useless. Putting it on backwards would help to pull air through the intercooler and out of the engine bay.
But this guy probably just did it because he's an idiot. Purple hubs? Really?

I definitely agree with this when it really comes down to it.
However I think people absolutely should be judged for their intent when customizing. Wanting to make your car unique and something that you think is cool? Fuckin do it, man. There are, however, many less admirable reasons.

I mean, its moving more air through the engine bay, out of the radiator and front mount intercooler, and as a bonus, it's defrosting the windshield. and of course because ebay JDM.
